The beginnings of community singing in Kopřivnice date back to 1870´s. In this time two choirs . men´s and mixed - appeared under the lead of a teacher Leopold Vícha. During the First World War their activites stopped. After the war singers meet again and in September 1922 men´s choir is founded. On 30. 12. 1922 they first performed as "Pěvecké sdružení Kopřivnice" (PSK) under the lead of conductor Jan Uhlíř  who led the choir next ten years and brought the choir to hight-quality rank. In 1926 composer Leoš Janáček became an honorary member of the choir. From 1932 to 1950 with the exception of 6 war led by a teacher Ladislav Buček. He helped to form a women´s part of PSK led by a music teacher Marianna Procházková and so the hoir started to perform as men´s, women´s and mixed. In 1950 Jan Sýkora, a long-time chorister and the assistant of conductor, took the lead. For long 33 years he stood in the front and it was him who helped carry PSK through very harssh time of communistic totality. In 1970´s Eva Pajdlová and Pavel Altrichter started to help Mr. Sýkora and so they received their first conductor´s experience. Under their common lead PSK arrange Spring. Autumn and Christmas concerts, organize the "Choirs Parade", they sing at shows, competitions and concerts in both close and farther vinicity. They have made very positive impression abroad (France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia) as well.
